Introduction
Adeel Haider Ghumman’s professional journey is a harmonious blend of journalism, academia, and research, deeply rooted in his interest in Islamic thought, society, and culture. Born and raised in Punjab, Pakistan, he pursued his academic passion by obtaining a Master’s in Islamic Studies from the University of Central Punjab and an M.Phil. in Islamic Thought and Civilization from the University of Management and Technology. Currently, he is a PhD Fellow in History and Civilization at BZU, Multan, where he is further enhancing his expertise in historical and cultural studies.
In academia, Adeel has made significant contributions as a Visiting Professor at the University of Central Punjab, University of Education Lahore, and Superior University since 2012, teaching and mentoring numerous students. Concurrently, he has built a distinguished career in journalism, beginning in 1999 as a Sub Editor at Daily Din and advancing to roles such as District News Editor at Daily Punjab News, Senior Sub-Editor at Daily Azkar, and Station Head of Daily Express in Sargodha. His leadership extended to managing multiple bureaus for Daily Express across Punjab before taking on an editorial position at Daily Nai Baat as Editor Special Assignments. He also author to books on mysticism and Islamic history, such as “Faizan-e-Habib” and “Muarif Mairaj un-Nabi (PBUH),” as well as scholarly studies on mosque architecture and numerous political columns. His intellectual pursuits often focus on the civilizational history of the subcontinent, the societal role of the mosque, and Islamic architecture.
